It's been 80 days. That's roughly 11 weeks since I have started Internet Marketing.
So how's it going? Well, Education is Awesome, but there is a difference between education and experience.
Let me illustrate: One day two young boys get together, and one boy says to the other, "I wonder what it would be like to have an orgasm?" The other boy answers and says, "I don't know, but I bet one of us could find out, then share with the other one his knowledge." So off they go, and agree that when one finds out the answer, he will share with the other.
The one boy goes off to school, studies really hard, graduates from high school, goes to college reads many books about sex, relationships, and orgasm, becomes an expert on the subject, even goes on to become a professor at university about "What it would be like to have an orgasm".
The other boy grows up, meets a nice girl one day, and she shows him how to have one.
Who Knows MORE about "What it would be like to have an orgasm?"
It may not be the most moral example, but it was a great illustration I heard once many years ago in my youth, and I never forgot it. One, because it is funny, and two, because it really made sense.
So that's where we're at folks. I have a lot of knowledge, almost no experience applying any of it, except through free marketing and social networking, but it's all good. Why, if I am not making any money yet? Well, as I wrote in a previous article, everyone has to start somewhere. What is important, is that you don't stop. don't stagnate, do not give up!
I am going to share another little secret with you all today. It's a quote I have taken from my Marketing Partner, Jeff Lerner. He really is amazing! I am part of his Marketing Team, and I have loads of resources and tools available for free every day to learn and apply in my business.
So, here's the Quote:
"If we have a product line, and an entire system built to promote that product line, yet we have no traffic (people viewing our ads and websites) do we really have an online business?" Jeff continues...
Newbie marketer: "I have my domain name, my website, and my email follow ups all in place. I have been on every wake up call, a bunch of evening trainings, and I even converted my spare bedroom into an office so I can be really focused. I'm feeling good about the business but I'm a little concerned I don't seem to be making any sales."
Jeff: "Not making sales... Do you mean the people you are selling to aren't buying OR there are no people to sell to? (I already know the answer but I want them to realize it)."
Newbie marketer: "Well I've got my website all set up? Aren't people visiting it?"
Jeff: "Well there are ove 2 billion people on the Internet so it might seem inevitable that somebody would stumble across your site. But there are also 15.8 billion pages of indexed content on the Internet, so basically your store is in a shopping mall with 8 times as many stores as people. You're gonna want to pay to get some people in your store if you want to have anyone to sell to."So, here's my point: The reality of being a new online marketer, is this-While you may be "branding" yourself (making an original presence online with followers), becoming socially popular, swelling your head with the latest and greatest new technique, and focused on a hot niche--You are still competing with millions of other online marketers, all trying to get you to notice them, trust them, and buy from them.
The Key: Traffic(Leads). You want to not only learn successful ways of generating masses of traffic to your sites and/or pages, but what you really want and need is those masses of traffic to see something Valuable They Can't Live Without, Trust YOU, and Buy only from YOU.
Money, Investment? You don't make money for free. Every business requires some investment, to receive some gain. Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances, which allows or limits us to how much money we have readily available after basic needs have been met, to invest into our business, to generate leads we so much want and need to be seen and heard.
What is realistic to expect, is the less you invest, the smaller your return, thus the longer your business takes to grow.
So in closing, here's my advice to any Newbie Marketer out there, reading my blog today--If you are Serious about becoming A Successful Online Entrepreneur, this is what is required of you:
1. You must be Teachable(Coach-able)
2. You must be willing to Apply the new knowledge you have acquired.
3. You must be willing to make an Investment, or a series of Investments, to receive any Return.(R.O.I.)
On that note this afternoon, folks, it's time for me to go Spend Some Money!!! (awe, only 50 bucks!)
Cheers!
